The Battle

History & Significance

Henry Tudor assembled a fleet in Brittany and attempted a landing on the Dorset or Devon coast in October 1483 to coincide with Buckingham's rebellion. Severe storms scattered the fleet and Tudor's few ships that approached the English coast were met by Richard III's troops on shore. Tudor withdrew to Brittany without landing.
