History & Significance

Glyndŵr's forces controlled the Conwy valley and surrounding uplands during the rebellion's high point. Llanrwst was the main market town of the middle Conwy valley and a key communications point between Gwynedd and the border. Welsh forces conducted operations across this region to prevent English reinforcement of isolated garrisons. The area remained resistant to English control throughout the rebellion.
