Ancient field system, including rath & 2 round cairns is a Bronze Age and Iron Age monument complex located in Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The site comprises a rath, a characteristic Irish ringfort or fortified farmstead, alongside two round cairns, stone burial monuments typical of prehistoric settlement landscapes. The field system represents the agricultural and territorial organisation of the late Bronze Age and Iron Age periods, when such integrated complexes of domestic and funerary monuments were characteristic of Irish rural settlement patterns. The physical remains demonstrate the relationship between defensive settlement, commemorative burial practice, and the organised exploitation of the surrounding landscape during the Iron Age.
