The chapel, of which only fragmentary remains survive, dates from the medieval period and represents an early Christian settlement associated with Glastonbury Abbey's sphere of influence. Archaeological evidence and historical records indicate the site functioned as a place of worship and burial, with the cemetery containing interments spanning several centuries. The site is now largely earthwork in character, though excavations have revealed structural remains and artefactual evidence testifying to its sustained use as a religious centre in medieval times.
