Bernera Barracks is a military fortification constructed in the early 18th century on the island of Bernera in Loch Lomond, Inverness-shire. Built following the Jacobite rising of 1715, the barracks served as a garrison to help enforce government control in the Highlands and suppress potential further rebellion. The structure comprises substantial stone walls and associated military buildings typical of post-1715 government forts established across the Highlands. The site represents an important phase of British military intervention in Scottish affairs during the early Hanoverian period.
