Blantyre Priory is a Benedictine monastic foundation in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, established in the twelfth century as a daughter house of Kelso Abbey. The priory occupied a site near the River Clyde and served as an important religious and economic centre for the surrounding region during the medieval period. Though substantially ruined, the surviving remains include elements of the monastic buildings, which exemplify the architectural character of Scottish Benedictine establishments of the period. The priory was abandoned following the Scottish Reformation in the sixteenth century, leaving only fragmentary stone structures and archaeological deposits that mark its former extent and significance.
