Stanton Moor is a Bronze Age ritual and burial landscape in Derbyshire containing numerous cairns, barrows and stone circles spanning the second millennium BC. The moor preserves evidence of settlement and funerary practices characteristic of the Bronze Age, with multiple burial monuments distributed across the moorland indicating intensive use of the site during this period. Medieval and post-medieval activity is attested on the moor, including pastoral use and associated features, whilst the site also retains evidence of 19th and early 20th century quarrying and industrial activity which has affected the preservation of some monuments. The surviving remains represent an important archaeological record of Bronze Age ceremonial and domestic occupation in the Peak District region.
