Burton Beach Overlord Hard is a World War II landing facility located near Burton, Pembrokeshire, in south Wales. It dates from 1943–1944 and was constructed as part of preparations for the D-Day landings, serving as a practice embarkation point where American forces trained and rehearsed amphibious operations before the Normandy invasion. The hard itself is a reinforced concrete ramp structure designed to enable the loading of troops and vehicles onto landing craft in sheltered waters. Its survival represents an important physical remnant of the intensive military preparations undertaken along the Welsh coast during the final stages of World War II.
