Car Dyke W of Martin Wood is a linear earthwork of Romano-British date located in Lincolnshire. The monument comprises a substantial ditch and bank system that formed part of the wider Car Dyke complex, an extensive defensive or boundary feature of the Roman period in the East Midlands. The surviving remains are partially levelled but still constitute a significant archaeological record of Roman engineering and landscape organisation in the region. The site contributes to understanding the military and administrative infrastructure of Roman Britain, particularly in relation to the control of movement and resources in the fenland and upland transition zone.
