Carn Menyn is a Neolithic chambered cairn located in the Preseli Mountains of Pembrokeshire, Wales, dating to the fourth or third millennium BC. The monument comprises a substantial stone cairn with an internal burial chamber, characteristic of the passage grave or portal dolmen tradition of the Welsh Neolithic. Carn Menyn is of considerable archaeological significance as a source of the distinctive spotted dolerite stone that was quarried and transported to Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain during the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods, establishing an important inter-regional trade or exchange network in prehistoric Britain.
