Carn Menyn is a Neolithic chambered cairn located in the Preseli Mountains of Pembrokeshire, Wales, dating to the Neolithic period. The monument consists of a substantial cairn of stacked stone with an internal burial chamber, constructed as a communal tomb for ritual and funerary purposes. The site is of particular archaeological significance as the Preseli Mountains are known as the source of the bluestones used in the construction of Stonehenge, and Carn Menyn itself has been identified as a probable quarry site from which these distinctive stones were extracted. The monument remains substantially visible today and represents an important example of Neolithic monumental architecture in Wales, serving as both a burial site and a marker of territorial significance in the prehistoric landscape.
