Carrock Fell is a complex of early twentieth-century metal mines and associated processing infrastructure located in the Lake District, Cumberland. The site comprises workings for tungsten, lead, copper, and arsenic, representing the exploitation of polymetallic ore deposits on the fell. A tungsten mill forms the principal structural remains, reflecting the period of intensive tungsten extraction during and after the First World War when demand for the metal was high for military applications. The site documents the industrial development of remote upland areas and the application of contemporary mining and milling technology to Cumbrian mineral resources during the early 1900s.
