The prehistoric stone hut circle settlement, irregular aggregate field system, five enclosures, well, cairnfield and trackways on St John's and Threlkeld Commons is a Bronze Age and Iron Age landscape monument located on the commons near Threlkeld in the Lake District, Cumbria. The site comprises multiple archaeological features spread across the moorland, including the remains of at least five stone-built circular domestic structures typical of upland settlement patterns in northern Britain during the later prehistoric period. The associated field boundaries, arranged in an irregular aggregate pattern, demonstrate the organisation of pastoral and possibly limited arable land use, whilst the cairnfield and linear trackways attest to the broader patterns of movement, herding and burial practice across this exploited upland terrain. This complex of features represents an important survival of prehistoric settlement archaeology in the north of England, preserving evidence of sustained human occupation and landscape management spanning several centuries of the Bronze and Iron Ages.
