Chatto Craig is a hillfort of probable Iron Age date located in Roxburghshire in the Scottish Borders. The fort occupies a commanding position on a natural crag, from which its name derives, and is defended by substantial ramparts that follow the contours of the hilltop. Its physical character is typical of Iron Age fortified settlements in southern Scotland, though detailed archaeological investigation has been limited. The site remains an important example of prehistoric defensive architecture in the region, commanding views across the surrounding landscape that would have afforded strategic advantage to its inhabitants.
