Cnoc Smeordail is a Post-Medieval settlement comprising hut circles and associated enclosures located on the Isle of Eigg in Inverness-shire, Scotland. The site consists of the remains of several circular or oval stone-built structures typical of Highland domestic architecture from the seventeenth century onwards, accompanied by field boundaries and stock enclosures that reflect the pastoral economy of the period. The settlement represents evidence of permanent or semi-permanent occupation during the Post-Medieval era, when such dispersed rural settlements were characteristic of the Hebridean islands. The remains are now largely ruinous, surviving as low stone footings and disturbed ground features that provide archaeological insight into domestic life and land use practices in the Post-Medieval Highlands.
