Coalport Bridge is a cast iron bridge spanning the River Severn at Coalport in Shropshire, constructed in 1818 to serve the industrial works of the Coalport China Manufactory and associated ceramic production facilities. The bridge exemplifies early nineteenth-century cast iron engineering and represents an important technological achievement in the development of iron bridge design during the Industrial Revolution. Its construction facilitated access to the china works and reflects the significant industrial activity that characterised the Ironbridge Gorge during this period. The structure remains a notable example of Regency-era industrial infrastructure within one of Britain's most important centres of industrial heritage.
