Coldberry lead mine is a post-medieval and early modern extractive site located in Durham, England, comprising mineral workings and associated hushes characteristic of lead mining activity in northern England. The hushes represent a water management system whereby channels were constructed to direct water across hillsides to flush away overburden and expose lead-bearing veins, a technique widely employed from the medieval period through to the early industrial era. The site reflects the commercial exploitation of Durham's mineral resources during a period of significant demand for lead in construction, plumbing, and other industrial applications. The archaeological remains preserve evidence of pre-industrial mining technology and landscape modification undertaken to access and extract metalliferous ore deposits.
