Coupar Angus Abbey gatehouse is a Medieval structure forming part of the former Cistercian abbey complex in Perthshire, Scotland. The gatehouse dates from the Later Medieval period and represents the surviving monastic architecture of what was one of Scotland's significant Cistercian foundations, established in the twelfth century. As a gatehouse, it would have functioned as the principal entrance point to the abbey precinct, controlling access to the monastic community and its lands. The structure survives as evidence of the abbey's physical layout and the architectural conventions governing access to enclosed monastic spaces during the later Middle Ages.
