Duddon Bridge Ironworks and associated leats is an ancient monument comprising the remains of an iron-working establishment dating to the post-medieval period, located near Duddon Bridge in Cumberland. The site includes evidence of water-management infrastructure in the form of leats, which directed water from the River Duddon to power the ironworks machinery. Approximately 370 metres north-west of Duddon Bridge stands Duddon Bridge Bobbin Mill and its associated leats, representing a separate but contemporaneous industrial enterprise that similarly exploited the river's water power for manufacturing purposes. Both monuments reflect the exploitation of Cumberland's water resources and raw materials during the early modern industrial period, when small-scale metal-working and textile-related manufacturing were established in rural locations with suitable topography and hydraulic potential.
