Dun Torcusay is an Iron Age dun situated 290 metres east-south-east of Garry-a-siar on the island of Benbecula in Inverness-shire, Scotland. The monument represents a defensive settlement characteristic of the Iron Age period in the Hebrides, when such fortified homesteads served as residences for local communities and their livestock. The dun's physical form, typical of its type and period, would have comprised stone-built structures enclosed within defensive ramparts or walls. Like many similar monuments in the Hebridean islands, Dun Torcusay provides evidence for settlement patterns and social organisation in Atlantic Scotland during the pre-Roman Iron Age.
