The Earthworks of deserted medieval village is a scheduled ancient monument comprising the surviving physical remains of a medieval settlement in Huntingdonshire. The site preserves ridge-and-furrow ploughing patterns, building platforms, and other landscape features characteristic of a nucleated medieval village that was subsequently abandoned, likely during the later medieval period when economic and social changes led to depopulation and conversion of arable land to pasture. The earthworks provide archaeological evidence of medieval settlement patterns and agricultural practices, with the topographical features remaining visible despite centuries of post-abandonment land use. Such deserted medieval villages represent an important class of monument for understanding the medieval economy, society, and the processes of settlement desertion that occurred across England from the fourteenth century onwards.
