Erncrogo Loch is a series of medieval fish ponds located approximately 400 metres south of Erncrogo in Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. These ponds represent a form of aquacultural management typical of the medieval period, when artificial water bodies were constructed to supply freshwater fish to settlements and estates. The site survives as earthwork features that retain evidence of the pond structures and associated water management systems. Such installations were economically significant resources on medieval estates, providing a reliable protein source and demonstrating the agricultural sophistication of their creators.
