Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery at Maker Heights is a Second World War defensive installation located near Torpoint in Cornwall. The battery formed part of the broader anti-aircraft defence network protecting the strategically important naval dockyards and shipping in the Tamar estuary and Plymouth Sound during the latter stages of the war. The site comprises earthworks and structural remains typical of heavy anti-aircraft batteries of the period, which were equipped with large-calibre guns mounted on concrete emplacements. Such installations represented a significant commitment of resources and personnel to counter the threat posed by German aircraft during 1940 to 1945.
