James's Temple is an Iron Age dun located approximately 400 metres north of Culnacraigh in Ross-shire, Scotland. The monument consists of a fortified circular or oval stone structure typical of Atlantic Iron Age settlement in northern Scotland, likely dating to between the 5th century BCE and the 1st century CE. Such duns served as defended farmsteads or family strongholds, their robust stone walls providing protection and storage for valuable goods and livestock in a period of significant social stratification. The site remains archaeologically significant as evidence of Iron Age domestic settlement patterns and defensive architecture in the Scottish Highlands during the pre-Roman period.
