The site comprises an enclosed area defined by defensive or boundary earthworks, characteristic of prehistoric or early historic settlement patterns in Scotland. Such enclosed settlements typically date to the Iron Age or Romano-British period, representing permanent or semi-permanent occupation by farming communities. The physical remains consist of visible ground features that mark the extent of the former settlement enclosure, which would have provided containment for domestic activity and possibly livestock.
