Lanercost Augustinian Priory is a Premonstratensian religious community founded in the mid-twelfth century in Cumberland, situated near Hadrian's Wall. The priory comprises substantial ruins of the conventual church and associated monastic buildings, with sections of the precinct wall surviving to indicate the extent of the monastic enclosure. The site includes a medieval standing cross base, a feature typical of monastic precincts. The priory remained in occupation until the Dissolution of the Monasteries under Henry VIII in the sixteenth century.
