Learchild Roman fort is a Roman auxiliary fort located in Northumberland in northern England. The fort dates to the Roman occupation of Britain and formed part of the military infrastructure established to control the northern frontier region. The site preserves archaeological remains characteristic of Roman military installations, including defensive earthworks and structural foundations typical of auxiliary forts of the period. As with many Roman forts in Northumberland, Learchild represents an important element of Rome's strategic presence in the borderlands during the Imperial period.
