Limekiln Braes is a complex of industrial remains comprising a lime kiln, associated quarries, and working platforms located 650 metres northwest of Bar na Beinn in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The site represents the material evidence of lime production, an activity that sustained local agriculture and building practices through the improvement of soil and provision of mortar and plaster for construction. The kiln and quarrying features reflect the exploitation of local limestone deposits, typical of many upland and rural areas of Scotland where such resources were systematically worked to meet regional demand. The site's precise dating and operational period require reference to local archaeological survey records, though the remains are consistent with the expansion of agricultural lime working from the eighteenth century onwards in northeast Scotland.
