Lismore Rath is a ringfort situated in the townland of Lismore near Coleraine in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The monument consists of a circular or sub-circular earthwork defined by a substantial bank and external ditch, characteristic of Early Christian period raths that served as enclosed homesteads and places of habitation from roughly the fifth to twelfth centuries. Such fortified enclosures were common throughout Ireland during the Early Medieval period and functioned as the domestic and sometimes defensive centres of free farmers and minor nobility.
