Lissaraw fort is a bivallate rath situated in the Newry and Mourne district of County Down, Northern Ireland. The monument consists of two concentric earthen banks and a possible associated souterrain, features characteristic of Early Christian period settlement fortifications in Ireland. Dating to the Early Christian period, the site represents a typical defensive homestead of the type that proliferated across the Irish landscape from approximately the fifth century onwards. The presence of the potential souterrain suggests the site may have served additional functions beyond domestic habitation, possibly including storage or refuge during times of disturbance.
