London Wall is a scheduled ancient monument comprising the remains of a Roman defensive wall and bastion located on Goring Street in the City of London. Constructed during the late second or early third century AD, the wall originally formed part of the fortified perimeter of Londinium, the principal Roman settlement in Britannia. The visible remains consist of sections of the wall fabric and an associated bastion, which are preserved within the modern urban landscape as evidence of Roman military architecture and urban planning. These fragments represent significant archaeological testimony to the scale and engineering capabilities of Roman occupation in Britain, with the wall itself standing as one of the most substantial surviving examples of Roman defensive construction in the province.
