McConnell's Lock is a canal lock forming part of the Lagan Navigation in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The lock dates from the late eighteenth century, when the Lagan Navigation was developed to facilitate commercial transport along the river between Belfast and Lisburn. As the first lock encountered on the navigation system, it served to regulate water levels and enable the passage of barges carrying goods including linen, coal, and agricultural products. The lock remains a significant surviving structure documenting Belfast's industrial heritage and the engineering infrastructure that supported the city's development as a commercial centre during the Georgian period.
