Middleton of Derculich is a Neolithic chambered cairn located in Perthshire, Scotland, approximately 70 metres south-east of the settlement from which it takes its name. The monument belongs to the class of megalithic burial structures characteristic of the early farming communities of northern Britain, dating to the fourth millennium before the present. Constructed from stone and earth, such cairns served as communal burial places, with internal stone chambers designed to contain multiple interments.
The site sits upon bedrock of the Southern Highland Group, comprising metamorphic rocks of psammite and pelite that were formed during the Middle Cambrian period. This geology has shaped both the landscape and the available building materials for the cairn's construction. The local stone resources would have been readily exploitable by Neolithic communities establishing their settlements in this region of Perthshire.
The monument is protected by Historic Environment Scotland under the designation SM2666, recognising its significance as a surviving example of Scotland's Neolithic funerary architecture.
