A moated enclosure and fishpond located 370 metres north-east of Scar Cottage is a medieval defensive and domestic complex of considerable local significance. The monument comprises an earthwork moat surrounding a raised platform or island, accompanied by an associated fishpond feature typical of high-status medieval settlement sites. Such moated enclosures were characteristic of the medieval period, particularly from the twelfth century onwards, serving as defensive residences for landholding families of moderate wealth. The survival of both the moat and fishpond earthworks provides evidence of the medieval landscape and settlement hierarchy within Worcestershire.
