The moated site at Ab Kettleby is a medieval earthwork monument located in Leicestershire. The site comprises the surviving remains of a moat, a water-filled defensive ditch that enclosed a residential or manorial enclosure, typical of medieval settlement patterns in the English Midlands. Such moated sites were commonly constructed during the medieval period, particularly between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries, and served to demarcate and protect the dwellings and outbuildings of minor landholders or gentry.
