The Preceptory at Old Dalby is a medieval religious establishment located in Leicestershire. It was founded as a commandery of the Knights Templar during the twelfth century and later passed to the Knights Hospitaller following the suppression of the Templar order in the early fourteenth century. The site represents the physical remains of a significant military-religious institution that would have functioned as both a spiritual centre and an administrative base for the order's estates and activities in the East Midlands. Archaeological and historical evidence indicates that the preceptory operated throughout the medieval period until the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the sixteenth century.
