Onnen-Deg Defended Settlement is a prehistoric promontory fort located in inland Ceredigion, Wales. The site occupies a naturally defended position and represents an example of Iron Age fortified settlement, typical of upland defensive structures constructed during the later prehistoric period in Wales. The fort's location on a promontory provided natural defensive advantages, which were enhanced by anthropogenic earthworks including ramparts and ditches. Such defended settlements served multiple functions, combining domestic occupation with defensive capability during a period of considerable social organisation and territorial demarcation in prehistoric Britain.
