The site consists of numerous stone cairns scattered across the fell, together with traces of ancient field walls and divisions that indicate sustained pastoral or agricultural activity during the Bronze Age period. The preservation of both funerary monuments and contemporary landscape organisation at this altitude demonstrates the extent of Bronze Age settlement and land use in the upland regions of northwest England.
