Prehistoric enclosure containing three hut circles and eight clearance cairns and an adjacent hut circle and cairnfield north east of Boat How, Burnmoor is a Bronze Age settlement site located on the moorland of Cumberland in north-western England. The monument comprises a defended or enclosed settlement containing evidence of domestic occupation through the presence of three hut circles within the enclosure, alongside eight clearance cairns indicative of agricultural activity and land management. An additional hut circle and associated cairnfield lies adjacent to the main enclosure, suggesting an extended phase of settlement and pastoral economy across this upland landscape. These remains provide archaeological evidence of Bronze Age domestic and agricultural practices characteristic of upland settlement during the prehistoric period.
