East Halton bombing decoy is a Second World War civil defence installation located in Lincolnshire, approximately 900 metres south-east of Lynton Stud. The site functioned as a quick-firing decoy, designed to draw enemy bombing away from legitimate military and industrial targets by simulating the appearance of an active airfield or strategic installation. Such decoys were constructed across Britain during the latter stages of the Second World War, typically featuring dummy structures, lighting arrangements, and other visual elements intended to deceive Luftwaffe bombers. The site survives as an archaeological monument testament to the innovative defensive measures employed by British civil and military authorities during the latter phases of aerial warfare in Europe.
