Sourhope is a scooped settlement located in Roxburghshire, Scotland, approximately 1050 metres east-north-east of the named place. The site consists of a series of shallow depressions and platforms cut into the hillside, characteristic of settlements dating to the medieval period. Such scooped settlements are thought to represent the remains of domestic occupation where dwellings were positioned within artificially levelled or partially sunken ground surfaces, a practice common in upland areas of the Scottish Borders during the medieval period. The physical remains at Sourhope survive as earthwork features that provide archaeological evidence of land use and settlement patterns in this region during the medieval era.
