South Yarrows is a Neolithic long cairn situated in Caithness, in the far north of Scotland. The monument lies approximately 210 metres south-west of Yarrows and is protected as a scheduled monument by Historic Environment Scotland. Long cairns of this type date to the Neolithic period and typically served as communal burial monuments, often containing multiple interments within stone-built chambers. The cairn sits upon bedrock of Middle Old Red Sandstone, a foundation of conglomerate, sandstone, siltstone and mudstone formed during the Middle Devonian period.
