Spittal Farm broch is an Iron Age defensive structure located in Caithness, northern Scotland, situated approximately 180 metres east of Spittal Farm. The broch dates to the Iron Age period, representing the characteristic stone-built circular tower type that flourished in northern Britain during the first centuries BC and AD. The monument survives as a substantial circular structure with massively thick walls constructed from dry stone, typical of broch architecture which provided both defensive capabilities and prestigious communal space for Iron Age communities. Brochs of this type served multiple functions within their societies, combining residential, defensive, and possibly ritual or gathering purposes within their distinctive hollow-walled design.
