St Andrews Cathedral and Priory is a major ecclesiastical complex in Fife, Scotland, comprising the ruins of one of medieval Scotland's most important religious establishments. Founded in the twelfth century, the priory served as the seat of the Augustinian canons regular and became closely associated with the cult of St Andrew, Scotland's patron saint. The surviving remains include substantial portions of the cathedral itself, notably the east gable and sections of the choir and nave, alongside fragments of the monastic buildings that once surrounded the cloister. The site was damaged during the Scottish Reformation in the mid-sixteenth century and subsequently fell into ruin, though its scale and architectural detail continue to testify to its former prominence as a centre of religious authority and pilgrimage in medieval Scotland.
