Steer Rig is a palisaded settlement located 820 metres east-north-east of Old Halterburnhead in Roxburghshire, Scotland. The site consists of a timber-palisade enclosed settlement, a monument type characteristic of Iron Age communities in the Scottish Borders, typically dating to the first millennium BCE. The physical remains comprise a roughly circular or ovoid enclosure defined by post-holes and associated archaeological features that indicate domestic occupation within a defended perimeter.
