Stone hut circle settlement, cairnfield and field system 580m north east of Gartaven Ford is a Bronze Age archaeological complex situated on moorland in Devon. The monument comprises a settlement of stone-built circular domestic structures characteristic of later prehistoric upland occupation, associated with a cairnfield containing burial cairns and a field system of banks and boundaries. The remains demonstrate the integrated pastoral and agricultural exploitation of Devonian moorland during the Bronze Age period. The site represents important evidence for the organisation of prehistoric settlement and land use in the South West.
