The Kames is a coastal defence battery located approximately 100 metres south-east of Calback Ness in Shetland, Scotland. The battery dates from the Second World War period when such installations were constructed to protect against enemy naval and air attack. It forms part of the wider system of coastal fortifications established across Shetland during this period of heightened military vulnerability.
