Thornton Mill Enclosure is a post-medieval field boundary system located approximately 350 metres east-south-east of Thornton Mill in East Lothian, Scotland. The site consists of a rectangular or sub-rectangular enclosure formed by substantial earthwork banks and ditches characteristic of the post-medieval period. Such enclosures typically date from the sixteenth century onwards and represent the consolidation and reorganisation of agricultural land use following earlier medieval strip-field systems. The survival of these earthwork features indicates a field pattern that remained undisturbed by subsequent intensive ploughing and modification.
