Tower Hill motte castle is a Norman fortification situated approximately 370 metres north-east of Dinsdale Spa in County Durham. The monument consists of a substantial motte, a characteristic earthwork of the Norman period, which would originally have been crowned with timber or stone defensive structures. Dating to the post-Conquest period, likely the 11th or 12th century, the site represents the Norman military occupation and reorganisation of the English landscape following 1066.
