Unenclosed hut circle settlement, associated field system and cairnfield on Standrop Rigg is a Bronze Age to Iron Age upland settlement complex located in the Cheviot Hills of north-western Northumberland. The site comprises multiple hut circles, evidence of field management through cairnfield remains, and associated agricultural infrastructure characteristic of prehistoric pastoral communities utilising marginal upland terrain. The unenclosed nature of the settlement indicates a period of relative stability before the later construction of more formally bounded settlements common in the Iron Age. The monument represents important archaeological evidence for understanding prehistoric land use and settlement patterns in the northern Pennines and the seasonal or permanent occupation strategies of Bronze Age and Iron Age peoples in this region.
