Waltham Abbey Royal Gunpowder Factory is a scheduled ancient monument located near Waltham Abbey in Essex, representing one of England's most significant early industrial sites. The factory was established in the sixteenth century and became the principal supplier of gunpowder to the Crown, operating continuously for nearly three hundred years until its closure in the nineteenth century.
